The Baylis name has been synonymous with golf in Zimbabwe and Africa for the last 30 years and is reputable and highly regarded throughout the continent's golfing fraternity. We have coached the Zimbabwe National Teams, both Senior and Junior, for many years, and have taken teams throughout Africa and the world to compete in championships and tournaments.

All coaching is carried out by qualified golf professionals under the direction of the CEO of Baylis Golf, Mike Baylis, who has been the President of the Zimbabwe Professional Golf Association, the President of both the Zimbabwe Junior Golf Association and the Malawi Junior Golf Association, and is a member of the South African PGA and the Zimbabwe PGA. He holds a Great Britain and Ireland class A1 Professional PGA Diploma.

 

Professional Lessons and Coaching

Whether you are new to the game of golf, intermediate, or an advanced level golfer, we can help you build your game improvement plan. We realize that no two golfers are the same, which is why each lesson is personalized for you to learn at your own pace. Individual lessons are tailored to you, designed to help you maximise your potential when playing golf. Group lessons are a great way to prepare Corporate Teams or Social Groups for golf days or competitions.

Our golf instruction employs innovative drills and practice techniques designed to achieve a better game of golf. Instruction is in 6 basic golf skill areas; driving, fairway irons, pitching, chipping, sand traps and putting, as well as general instruction on stroke and technique. We also offer professional coaching for advanced golfers.

Because there is a whole world of proper and expected behaviour around golf, beyond a newcomer's knowledge, our coaching goes the extra mile and includes game courtesy and etiquette, care of the golf course, and how to use the rule book properly.

 

Current Pricing

Sessions are 45 minutes in duration, with the exception of the Group of 4 or more people option, which are 90 minutes in duration. Coaching times can be arranged to suit your schedule. Coaching will take place at either Chapman Golf Club or the Borrowdale Brooke Golf Club, as is your preference. Juniors lessons

Coaching now includes SNAG® Golf ('Starting New At Golf') - a scientific golf training concept for all ages and abilities, and the best first touch program to effectively teach the game of golf to children and young beginners. Special training tools and event modules have been developed so SNAG® Golf offers the versatility to learn and play in almost any environment you choose.

We also run junior coaching clinics every Saturday from 9:00 ~ 12:00 at the Borrowdale Brooke Golf Club that are open to all, and we host school holiday competitions (follow our Facebook page to keep up to date)
